My name is Anna Nekrasova.
I was born in the USSR, in a typical Leningrad intelligent family. My grandfather who was a retired colonel wanted me to become an Athlete, meanwhile I dreamed to become a ballerina and perform on the stage of Mariinskiy theatre. To tell the truth, none of these dreams had any chance to be realized due to my dear grandma who cooked delicious pies every time by my visit. My mother, biologist and chess player, paid much attention to my extra education in the field of art and it gave the result – I decided to get an education in the sphere of History of Fine Arts.
I graduated from the University of Culture and Art, department of history of world's culture. I started my career as director's secretary in the head office of a famous company in St. Petersburg with more than 2000 employees. It was an interesting experience, but that was not what I really enjoyed to do. Very often, I spent free time walking along the streets of St. Petersburg with my friends, relatives, as well as other people who knew me and visited St. Petersburg on different occasions. I showed the city to them and became their tour guide)). I enjoyed their life stories, as well as intellectual conversations about culture, history and art, but that was just a hobby first. So, finally I decided to turn the hobby into my work and my lifestyle. More than 10 years I have been working as a professional guide and I love my job!
Other interests of mine are reading, travelling, handcrafting, and cooking. I like healthy lifestyle and I hate boring tours! I am in an opinion that besides having a deep knowledge in culture, art and history, the guide must be a little bit of an actor and a performer in order to make the tour special and be able to help tourists to get very enjoyable time and memorable experience of their trip. Besides, the guide is the link between the travelers and their needs in a foreign country, "the translator" of the local culture and traditions.
